- Gift amounts will include the range stated in the source document
- If the source document does not include data on the dollar amount of the gift, this field will state “Not Specified”

Each record is assigned one of the following gift categories:

- Program Gift / Restricted Gift

- Consecutive Yearly Gifts, Past 2-4 Years
- Consecutive Yearly Gifts, Past 5-9 Years
- Consecutive Yearly Gifts, Past 10+ Years
- Unknown

Year that donation was received by recipient organization
- This field will either contain a single year, such as “2004”, or a fiscal year “2003-2004”, depending on how the recipient organization identified the time period
- Multi-year campaigns will either have the year in which the campaign honor roll was published, or the entire time span of the campaign, such as “1999-2002”
- If the source document does not indicate a time period, the “Year” field defaults to the year in which the source material was placed into the Database

Recipient Organization Geographic Program Scope
- Each organization is identified as either LOCAL, NATIONAL, or INTERNATIONAL
- The geographic program scope is assigned by one of NOZA's analysts, and is intended to assist in identifying if the donor is a local donor, national donor or international donor
- "NATIONAL" is generally defined as any organization with programs that extend beyond the boundaries of the province in which the organization is located
- All 4-year higher education institutions are assigned the "NATIONAL" designation
